It’s the Fall of 2002, and 2200 Wallace Blvd. stands silent and empty, with no equipment, not even paint on the walls. At this point, all that exists is a small folding table with a chair in the corner of the building, and in it sits a man with a vision.
John G. Johnson will tell you that with over 20 years of experience as a physical therapist at that point, that he was a healthcare professional and not a businessman. However, this man looked around the community in which he had lived for his entire lifetime and recognized a need. At that moment, he made a promise to his friends, family, neighbors and former patients that he was going to create a place where anyone can go to become happier, healthier, and more fit. This place was not meant for professional athletes or bodybuilders, and would be designed to serve as a secure and comfortable atmosphere for all of its members. He pictured a community within his community, and vowed to serve his members health and wellness needs from that point forward. The old adage says "build it and they will come".
However, John decided “they will come and I will build it”. Essentially his creation was built exactly for the individuals who needed it. A single article appeared, and suddenly this empty building with no equipment was flooded with members of the community anxious to become the founding members “their” fitness center. Approximately 100 people put their blind trust into the well known man with genuine sincerity in his eyes, despite the fact his office was a card table, and his fitness center was empty . He did not disappoint them.
Over six years have passed, over 1000 members and countless patients have come through the door, and EverFit Physical Therapy & Fitness Center has grown into the community service it was envisioned to become. Top of the line equipment fills the building, as well as a thriving physical therapy practice in the midst.
In October of 2007, EverFit Physical Therapy expanded even further by opening an additional office in Westampton, NJ. Although both offices offer similar treatment methods, Westampton offers the additional service of aqua therapy as a physical therapy treatment method.
Countless success stories of weight loss, improved endurance, injury repair and prevention have been
expressed by our members and patients, and we look forward to hearing many more
success stories in the future.
