Project Healthy Bones is an osteoporosis prevention, exercise and education program for older adults in New Jersey. Osteoporosis is a serious medical condition in which bones become thin, brittle, and easily broken, particularly the hip, spine, and wrist.
The good news is that osteoporosis can be prevented. Exercise, good nutrition and education can significantly decrease the risks of osteoporosis and prevent further deterioration of the bones in people who already have the disease. Prevention and treatment of osteoporosis begins with education, lifestyle, exercise, nutrition, and drug therapies.
EverFit will be holding a Healthy Bones program in early 2009.
